Project Description
The town of Xaghra and the prehistoric temple complex of Ġgantija;
Fontana + Gozitan crafts village; Xlendi bay, Dwejra and the Inland Sea; Victoria (Gozo’s beautiful capital city) with its famous Citadel fortress. While vacationing and travelling in Malta, one cannot leave out the neighbouring island of Gozo. It is part of the Maltese Archipelago and the State of Malta.
Life on the island of Gozo has a different atmosphere from Malta itself. Time
seems to stand still here. We will visit the Megalithic Temples of Ggantija, the
most ancient man-made structure on earth, which is a World Heritage Site.
Archaeologists believe that the civilization that built these temples existed
about 7000 years ago! Indeed, here you will feel like a grain of sand in the
endless stream of time.
After that, we will visit the tiny village of Xlendi, a paradise among the rocks,
mysterious caves and grottoes, where you will have the opportunity to take
some really beautiful photographs. Then we will head to Dwejra Bay and see
the Inland Sea, where you can take a boat trip.
We will continue our walk through the capital of Gozo – Victoria. It has narrow
streets and very kind inhabitants who do not seem to know what vanity is. The Maltese know how to rejoice, have fun, and relax. It’s contagious! A slow way of life and desire for pleasure are harmoniously combined here. On the way, we will visit the Basilica of St. George and head to the highest bastions of the Citadel fortress, another attraction of the island of Gozo! Followed by shopping and free time. After which we will return to Malta by ferry.
Duration – 8-9 hours with a guide without entrance tickets or with
entrance tickets, if desired.
